ISIS news, events, instrument updates and information on how to apply for beamtime for users who wish to submit a proposal in the next round.
Next proposal round closing date: 16 April 2017, 23:00 GMT
This call for proposals covers beamtime that will be allocated from September 2017 to February 2018
Neither MAPS nor MARI will be accepting proposals in the next round as they are offline for upgrades. In addition there will be limited beamtime on GEM, due to an upgrade being planned for the end of 2017.
SXD now has a 10kN compact tensile stress rig to apply uniaxial strain/stress to single crystals – contact Matthias Gutmann for further information.
Experimental reports These are expected for all experiments carried out at ISIS. In particular, ISIS may choose not to accept follow-on proposals where there is no experimental report from previous beamtime. Report forms are sent by email following an experiment, or can be downloaded here.
Proposal template Guidance on writing the 2-page science case for an ISIS proposal is available – please see the template.
