A number of motion control options are available dependant on the application. In most instances the standard Galil motion control system will be used.
Galil Motion Control Unit
This is a general purpose motion control system designed to be the ISIS standard. It incorporates the control electronics and the motor drive systems for up to eight motors. The unit can be set up to run Stepper motors, Servo motors, Piezo electric motors or any combination of the three. It also has digital and analogue interfaces. The system is available in 8 axis, 4 axis or single axis versions and can have an uninterruptable power supply fitted.
This stepper motor control unit is primarily used to control sample environment movement. It is more portable than the Galil system and has only 1 or 2 axes. It has a very simple instruction set and can be driven by a computer or by an optional jog system.
This portable device allows a stepper motor to be driven with either Galil or McLennan connections and will also prove the operation of an encoder and any limit switches. It only offers local control with motor speed adjust, motor direction, limit switch override and encoder feedback display.
