The delegation from the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) was led by their President, Mr. Xiaokang Wang. They were shown around the ISIS Second Target Station by Professor Robert McGreevy, Head of the ISIS Diffraction Division, and Instrument Scientist, Dr Shu Yan Zhang.
The CECEP delegation also saw presentations by STFC spin out companies including Oxsensis, which produces sensors for extreme environments, and cryogenic technology company, Cryox.
CECEP is working with the UK’s Carbon Trust to invest in low-carbon technologies and forge links between low-carbon industries in China and the UK. Mr. Haoming Liu, Director from the China - UK Low Carbon Enterprise Co Ltd (the joint venture company formed by CECEP and Carbon Trust) has expressed interest in another STFC spin out company, Cella Energy, which investigates novel hydrogen storage materials.
This was the second visit to STFC by CECEP and we look forward to developing the relationship further.
