​The 2018 meeting of the Disordered Materials User Group will be held at the Milton Hill House & Conference Centre​ near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, and aims to explore "A 21st Century View of Disordered Matter".

Within this scope we have put together a special programme of talks that have been drawn from the research interests and enduring scientific vision of Prof. Alan K. Soper FRS, who retired from full time employment with the Science and Technology Facilities Council in late 2017. The thematic content of the meeting includes: Pair Distribution Metho​ds in Disordered Materials Science, New Insights into Water and Aqueous Systems, The Shape and Direction of Neutron Scattering Instrumentation and Methods for Disordered Systems, and Applications of Neutron Scattering to Systems of High Complexity.​
