Over the last seventy years or so neutron imaging has been applied to a wide range of problems from archaeology through to plant growth and from the optimisation of engines and fuel cells to water ingress into building materials. Recent technical improvements in neutron imaging instrumentation, especially the scintillators used, means that quantitative investigations with a resolution of a few tens of micrometers and seconds are now possible. In this seminar I will first describe briefly the neutron radiography instruments ICON (PSI) and ANTARES (FRMII) on which our measurements were performed and present details of the practical considerations specific to our systems.
