ISIS is a world-leading centre for research in the physical and life sciences at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near Oxford in the United Kingdom. Our suite of neutron and muon instruments gives unique insights into the properties of materials on the atomic scale. We support a national and international community of more than 3000 scientists for research into subjects ranging from clean energy and the environment, pharmaceuticals and health care, through to nanotechnology and materials engineering, catalysis and polymers, and on to fundamental studies of materials.

There is an opportunity for two experienced pulsed power electrical engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Group within the ISIS Accelerator Division. A highly experienced Pulsed Power Projects Leader is required to work closely with fellow engineers and scientists to provide pulsed power expertise for the existing pulsed systems, technical input to the accelerator scientists regarding future ISIS upgrades and strategies for pulsed power applications on ISIS. A section leader is also required who will be responsible the operation and maintenance of the accelerators pulsed power supplies as well as implementing the installation and commissioning of any replacement power supplies. The section leader will also work closely with the Group Leader and the pulsed power projects leader.
