There are two meetings organised by ISIS each year just for students, providing opportunities for students to present their work to their peers, ask questions of each other and chair sessions. These offer the chance to discover more about the broad range of research taking place at neutron and muon facilities and network with fellow students who also carry out experiments at large scale facilities.
- ISIS Student Meeting (ISM) runs annually as a 2-day meeting showcasing student research
- UK Neutron & Muon Science and User Meeting (NMSUM) Student day runs annually as a 1-day meeting before the main User meeting to learn more about neutron & muon techniques, as well as the research of fellow students
Registration to both meetings are open to PhD and Masters students and are free to researchers at UK universities and ILL. Reasonable travel expenses for these students will also be covered.
We are happy to announce that we will be holding the next joint ISIS and ILL Student Meeting on 19 April.
The meeting will be held online, using Zoom, and be a mix of student talks and technique overview presentations from ISIS and ILL staff. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the meeting. You can register for the meeting on our registration page. For the purpose of forming a meeting programme, the registration deadline is 18 March.
Here are example programmes from past meetings.
