Experimentalists take beautiful data which unambiguously uncovers the exotic and complex behaviour of pyrochlore magnets. Unfortunately the interpretation of the data sometimes requires detailed modeling that only theorists can accomplish.

Two particular examples are analysed, both of which have the wrong (in my opinion) interpretation in the literature:

Gd2Ti2O7

Ho2Ru2O7

Using a mixture of exact ideas to deal with the long-range dipole interaction and simulations to deal with temperature we reproduce all the experiments with physically sensible states. We also uncover an as yet mysterious phase which should be investigated experimentally.

The ideas presented are controversial and not beyond reproach so feel free to come and challenge this deliberately arrogant set of claims.....
