SURF shares much of its Sample Environment equipment with CRISP, the main difference being that there is no roof access for craning in large pieces of equipment. The most commonly used equipment is the liquid troughs, a set of 5x30ml temperature controlled PTFE troughs used for air-liquid interface studies. There is also an assortment of solid-liquid cells available and increasingly users are supplying their own cells. Further information on the full range of Sample Environment equipment is available here.
If you wish to design and use your own equipment on SURF we strongly reccommend that you contact our Sample Environment team or the instrument scientists before building anything to ensure that your equipment is compatible with SURF.
