We are currently looking to recruit 1 machinist to work in the Experimental Operations Division as part of the Instrument Operations Group and Sample Environment Group.

In this role you will be required to manufacture a wide range of small batch scientific components using both manual and CNC machining methods. You will be required to work to engineering drawings and verbal instructions. You will develop machining capabilities and work with a wide spectrum of materials ranging from Aluminium to Stainless Steel, Inconel and Super Alloys. You will also be required to complete assembly and alignment work as part of the role.

You will have served a mechanical apprenticeship and will be an experienced manual machinist, vocationally trained and proficient with best practice techniques and conversant with a wide range of tooling. Familiarity and experience using various hand tools is also essential.  CNC programming and CAD experience are advantageous although training could be provided to the right candidate.
