We will give a further update at 01:00 Hours. 24 May 2023 21:35 Beam OFF - We are still trying to fix the Ion source. The second Ion source was fitted and ran up ok but had poor output. Another replacement has been fitted but is suffering from poor running as well which maybe due to ancillary equipment issues. Update at 11pm. 24 May 2023 17:34 Beam OFF - Unfortunately the Ion source has become blocked, it is not recoverable and requires changing. This should take approximately 2-3 hours. 24 May 2023 09:42 Full rep rate Beam restored to Target 1 @ 09:40 23 May 2023 16:45 BEAM OFF to TS1. The behavior of the Methane moderator on TS1 has become erratic under beam conditions. A decision has been made by the TS1 personnel to turn off Beam to Target 1 until approximately 9am tomorrow morning. 23 May 2023 00:22 Beam is currently intermittent whilst we investigate a problem with field instability in one of the LINAC Tanks. 22 May 2023 20:44 Modulator 4 water flow increased. BEAM ON 22 May 2023 20:21 BEAM OFF We have an issue with a water flow on Modulator 4 - We are making entry to the Linac trench to investigate. Update at 20:45 22 May 2023 10:33 We have changed modes to run the machine to both targets. We are currently running a low rep rate beam to TS1 which we will increase over the next few hours. Beam to TS2 is at full rep rate. 18 May 2023 23:00 Beam on to TS2. 18 May 2023 22:03 We have a problem with one of the LINAC Modulators. An expert is on their way to site to assist. Update at 23:00 Hours. 17 May 2023 15:56 Beam restored to TS2 at 15:43 Hours. 17 May 2023 12:25 Coffee and cake for all Users will be available in the R80 foyer from 3pm. 17 May 2023 10:47 Beam ON ISIS will now go OFF at 11:15 17 May 2023 10:36 Beam ON We have an issue with a Substation power supply to the LINAC area which will require us to turn ISIS off to repair. We will take this opportunity to change the Ion source as well to make use of the time. This work should take 3 hours. We will start this work at 11:00 this morning. Please contact the MCR on 6789 if this time will effect any running experiments. We may be able to delay by 10 minutes but due to the nature of the fault we cannot delay beyond 11:15. 15 May 2023 20:08 Beam restored to Target 2. 15 May 2023 19:15 Beam OFF - We are still experiencing a fault with EVB2 power supply.
