The collaboration between the facility and the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) in Italy is one of our longest international agreements, and the new 6 year extension will make a 40 year partnership. Over its history the collaboration has spanned a very wide range of science areas from fundamental research through to biomaterials, materials for energy and cultural heritage studies. It has also included the development of significant instrumentation and techniques which have benefited the wider neutron community.
The latest agreement was signed on Wednesday 6 October by Prof Robert McGreevy and Maria Chiara Carrozza, President of CNR. The Minister for Education, Universities and Research, Cristina Messa, was also present.
