On cryostat centre sticks the capillary has a temperature sensor and heater to ensure that the sample gas does not freeze, preventing blockages. The centre stick is terminated at the sample end with a standard 34mm Conflat flange facilitating attachment of the sample container with a standard copper gasket. The Centre Stick capillary is connected via a 1/8", (3.175mm) diameter tube and, Swagelok fittings to the gas handling rig.
