Why do we need e-Map?
e-Mam will provide new capabilities for stress measurement in full size engineering components, meaning engineering manufacturers and emerging technology SMEs are able to design the next generation of complex machines with improved performance, durability and capability.

Watch Harry Coules from the University of Bristol talk about what e-Map will offer the engineering community:

Technical suucess criteria:
• Count rate / Figure of merit: 10x Engin-x
• Diffraction resolution, Δd/d: ≤0.5% at 2θ=±90°
• Beam size: 4x10mm
• Detector coverage: 2θ=±90°
• Horizontal:  ±14°
• Vertical:  ±21°
