Parallel Session 9: Communicating Distributed Infrastructure
Wednesday 10 April 14:15 - 16:00

PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing is the persistent pan-European High Performance Computing Research Infrastructure (RI) providing world-class systems for world-class science. Systems at the highest performance level (Tier-0) are deployed by Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. The RI is supported by a series of EU-funded projects, the PRACE Implementation Phase projects, where 58 partners collaborate. EXDCI-2, a joint action of PRACE and ETP4HPC, the European Technology Platform for HPC, supports the European HPC stakeholders and the European HPC ecosystem with two main goals: The development and advocacy of a competitive European HPC Exascale Strategy, and coordination of the stakeholder community for European HPC at the exascale through joint community structuring and synchronisation.

The challenges to communicate in a distributed infrastructure, as well as within a large community, will be presented. First within the RI and the supporting EU-project, then in the wider context of the European HPC community.
