We are thrilled to announce and commemorate four decades of steadfast collaboration and friendship between Italy and the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. Over the past 40 years, our partnership has strengthened, fostering instrument innovation, excellent science and mutual growth.

Since our partnership's inception in 1984, we have shared a common commitment to promoting academic excellence, scientific advancement, the growth of neutron and muon techniques, and the development of early-career researchers.

Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones in various fields, including partnership in the development of ISIS instruments such as IMAT, Vesuvio, Tosca, Sandals, Nimrod and ChipIr; operation of the INES instrument; and science collaboration in areas such as biomaterials, materials for energy and cultural heritage.

To mark this momentous occasion, we are organizing a special event on the 15th February 2024 at the Visitor's Centre, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. The event will be attended by Prof Maria Chiara Carrozza, President of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and Prof Mark Thomson, STFC Executive Chair. It will bring together scientists, technical staff and those who have supported the collaboration from both Italy and the ISIS Facility, creating a platform to reflect on our shared history, celebrate our achievements, and envision an even brighter future.

Join us in celebrating this remarkable journey of partnership and collaboration.

Invitation to the event has been sent. Please fill in the registration form to confirm your attendance.

We look forward to continuing the successful partnership with between ISIS and Italy for many more years to come.

Thank you for being part of the Italy-ISIS (Neutron and Muon Source Facility) partnership's incredible story.
