ISIS senior managers have changed responsibilities with the creation of a new directorate for National Laboratories at the Science and Technology Facilities Research Council.

Following changes in the senior management structure at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), ISIS Director, Dr Andrew Taylor, has taken up a new, expanded role within the research council as Executive Director of the National Laboratories from 1 April 2012.

Dr Uschi Steigenberger, formerly Director of ISIS Operations, has been appointed Acting Director for ISIS until a new ISIS Director has been appointed.

Dr Philip King becomes Acting Head of the ISIS Spectroscopy and Support Division.

The new National Laboratories Directorate within STFC under the leadership of Andrew Taylor will be responsible for sustaining and keeping the UK's large scientific facilities at the global cutting edge and for maintaining the scientific and technological competiveness of the UK's national laboratories.

The process for appointing a new ISIS Director is underway, and the appointee will report to Dr Taylor. The closing date for applications is 3 May 2012.
