This meeting, jointly organised by the IoP/RSC Neutron Scattering Group, ISIS and ILL, was a chance for UK users of neutrons and muons to hear about latest science using these techniques, together with facility updates and other news of interest to the community. It took place in the Warwick Conference centre, and attracted over 250 participants including over 90 for the student day.
The structure of the meeting was:
- Monday 25 April (11.00am onwards): Student day. A chance for students who are using neutrons or muons in their projects to meet other students, learn more about neutron and muon techniques and present their work.
- Tuesday 26 April (09.00 onwards): Science day. Plenary talks together with parallel sessions based around five themes. A chance to hear latest results from members of the community.
- Wednesday 27 April (09.00 – 13.00): User day. Facility updates and other news of interest to ISIS and ILL users.
The BTM Willis Prize, awarded by the Neutron Scattering Group of the IoP and RSC, was presented at the meeting to Alex O'Malley - you can read more about him here.
Following the meeting a survey was sent to all attendees. Many thanks to those who filled this in - a summary of responses and resulting actions can be found here.
