Higher education students (university equivalent and above) may be interested in specific visits to the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source for their society or CDT cohort. It is possible for lecturers or students to arrange a trip, if they contact us in advance.

A standard visit would consist of a general talk giving an overview of the facility (typically 45 minutes) followed by a tour (typically 1 hour). It may be possible to add more tailored aspects to the visit, specifically a short additional talk on a particular aspect of the facility or a trip to another one of STFC's facilities at RAL. However this is dependent on what areas and which people are available on the day. If you would like us to cover a particular subject area then please be specific when arranging the visit and the earlier you do so, the more likely it will be that we can help.

Typically we limit the events to 30 visitors, although larger groups can be considered. We can try to work dates to suit you, although the earlier you contact us the more flexible we can be. The events would have to be during the daytime on a weekday.

Interest in these events is quite high and we advise contacting us at least 3 months before your proposed visit. To book, or for more information, please contact the ISIS Impact Officer, Rosie de Laune, rosie.de-laune[at]stfc.ac.uk.
