The ISIS Experimental Operations Division has four different sizes of vanadium can available. The  vanadium sample cans are used mostly on the diffraction instruments.

The vanadium cans are electron beam welded, transparent to neutrons with a temperature range from 2K  to 1273K.  The cans cannot be used with hydrogen, due to hydrogen embrittlement.

A higher working temperature, will result in the working pressure being reduced. Approval is required to work at a higher temperature, the request should be made through Chris Goodway.
