There are two meetings organised by ISIS each year just for students, providing opportunities for students to present their work to their peers, ask questions of each other and chair sessions. These offer the chance to discover more about the broad range of research taking place at neutron and muon facilities and network with fellow students who also carry out experiments at large scale facilities.
- ISIS Student Meeting (ISM) runs annually as a 2-day meeting showcasing student research
- UK Neutron & Muon Science and User Meeting (NMSUM) Student day runs annually as a 1-day meeting before the main User meeting to learn more about neutron & muon techniques, as well as the research of fellow students
Registration to both meetings are open to PhD and Masters students and are free to researchers at UK universities and ILL. Reasonable travel expenses for these students will also be covered.
Next Meeting
We are happy to announce that we will be holding the next ISIS Student Meeting on 26th-27th October.
The issues posed by the pandemic that prevented us from holding a meeting in the Summer have not completely gone away and so the meeting will be held online instead, using Zoom. Nevertheless, we hope to still provide a valuable experience, and look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the meeting.
Students can register for the meeting using the following link: http://bit.ly/ISIS_SC_2020. For the purpose of forming a meeting programme, the registration deadline is 30 September.
