Instrument scientist

Email address:

Oleksandr Tomchuk at the PolRef instrument at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source.

Oleksandr has extensive expertise in solving multidisciplinary challenges related to the advanced characterisation of nanoscopic materials using neutron and X-ray scattering techniques. Before joining ISIS, he worked at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Kraków), the Institute of Environmental Geochemistry (Kyiv), the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (Dubna) and Taras Shevchenko National University (Kyiv), where he earned both his MSc and PhD in Physics. His current research focuses on liquid crystals for technological applications and the development of neutron reflectometry methods to support these studies.
