The review showcases the breadth, depth and quality of the work delivered at our facility this year.

ISIS research plays a key role in delivering the UK Government’s Modern Industrial Strategy, supporting many of the high-growth sectors it highlights. This year we have welcomed new and returning scientists and supported them to deliver outstanding research in areas such as green energy technology, quantum science, advanced materials, and healthcare.

At ISIS we are always developing the accelerator, target stations and instrument suite. We also continue to make progress in detector technologies, sample environments and computing, keeping the facility at the forefront of accelerator-based neutron and muon sources.

The review also highlights our growing international partnerships and the work of the people and teams work here. Collaboration is key as we share our scientific and technical knowledge, pushing the boundaries of neutron and muon science to enable new discoveries that benefit society. The research conducted at ISIS is supported by approximately 600 staff – everyone at ISIS plays a key role in keeping the facility running.
