Ross Stewart is an expert in polarisation analysis and studies of frustrated magnetic materials. Between 1998 and 2008, he worked on the D22, D7 and IN4C beamlines at the Institut Laue-Langevin, before coming to ISIS as an instrument scientist on MARI (2008-2011), MAPS (2017-2020) and LET (2020-present) and as Group Leader (2011-2017).
Ross is the current chair of the UK Neutron Scattering Group, a joint interest group of the Institute of Physics and the Royal Society of Chemistry, representing over 1000 UK neutron users.
