The workshop will give engineers who design and build instruments the opportunity to come together as a community to share ideas and enhance future neutron scattering instruments.
Engineers from other labs will be introduced and there will be discussions on:
- past successes and failures
- current developments and research
- future plans and challenges
We plan to allow discussion on any subject related to instrument design. As we receive abstracts, we will develop the programme to concentrate on the elements that participants are more interested in discussing. Topics will include the following:
- Choppers and chopper systems
- Shielding
- Beam slits, jaws and conditioning methods
- Collimation and collimators
- Motion systems and mechanics
- Vacuum vessel design, analysis and approval
- Detector structures and mechanics
- Project management of instrument builds
The agenda is now available.
