Clean and sustainable: developing shampoos that are better for your hair and the planet

Neutron reflectometry has been used by L’Oréal to understand the chemical interactions between models of shampoo and damaged hair, opening the door to the development of new, improved, products that are more sustainable. It's a product that we use all the time, but shampoo is actually more complex than you might think. As well as cleaning your hair, it can be designed to condition it, reduce dandruff, and make it smell nice.
